It’s official. Empty Cup is high def. Two hours ago I bought a new high def camera with all the trimmings. Time to step into the world of 16:9 and join the future.
It’s comforting to think I’m staying “with the times” of technology. In January I bought the newly released Nikon D300 with the latest Tamron lens. Now I’m bought Canon’s new A1 HD camera. I feel pretty good.
Now – what’s wrong with this story? It’s pretty one sided isn’t it.
I think it’s interesting that we all share just the positive side of our stories. It paints a very 2-D story. I hear lots of success stories from the other companies I work with, and I think “man, they’re doing so well! When am I going to get my break?”
The truth is, we all go through troubled times. We just don’t share it with everyone. I think it’s important though. I’m human, I have bad days. My business is growing in strength everyday, but it too has bad days. And the purchasing of all this new gear was a result of bad days (equipment failure).
Ugo, a solid buddy of mine (www.uproductions.ca), is a great type of friend to have. I hope everyone has an Ugo. I call him with my business troubles. He tells me “it happens man, it happens to me too”. It’s good support. We all need to be reminded that mistakes happen, things break, and not everyday is awesome.
So chin up everyone. When you have a bad day, or your business has a bad day, remember that it just happens. Have your bad day, bounce back, and the next day could be your best day ever.
That’s cool, Col. Things are really taking off for you and the new equip 16.9, yeah, yeah, like I know what you’re talking about, will boost your quality and leave your competition aquiver. Is this money recovered from that breakage last fall, hmmm??
